دی اکسید تیتانیم (Titanium Dioxide) یا تیتانیا با فرمول TiO2 دارای وزن مخصوص 4.2-3.9، نقطه ذوب 1854 درجه سانتی گرادو سختی 6.5-5.5 است. دی اکسید تیتانیم در آب و اسیدهای آلی و محلول های رقیق قلیایی حل نمی شود اما در اسید سولفوریک گرم و HF حل می شود. دی اکسید تیتانیم در سه شکل ساختمانی آناتاز (تتراگونال)، روتیل (مکعبی) و بروکیت (ارتورمبیک) قابل متبلور شدن می باشد.
دی اکسید تیتانیم به صورت سنگ های ایلمینیت (FeTiO3)، پروسکایت (CaTiO3) و تیتانیت ایلمینوروتیل و به صورت نادرتر به شکل روتیل در منابع معدنی یافت می شود.
